Puje Cliff Ruins/Ancestral Home of the Santa Clara Pueblo People This webpage was created on 3 MAR 1999 for visits by friends and relatives of the Whittington and Roller families from across the U.S., many of whom we've yet to meet. What better way to get to know each other than by traveling to a cost-free webpage!

Susan is also known as Susan Roller and is of half Santa Clara Pueblo blood. Her parents (Ted & Toni Roller), grandmother (Margaret Tafoya), and other maternal relatives still live on the reservation. Puje Cliffs was the home of her family's ancestors. Susan's Indian name, Kha Pokween (Wild Rose by the Spring) is the same name given to the pueblo upon its establishment several hundred years ago.

Jim is equal parts Spanish and English. His grandparents, Pablo and Luz Martinez lived in Pecos, New Mexico. His mother, Pauline (Martinez) Candee grew up there and youngest brother Sam Whittington and his family now reside there. The Pecos National Monument preserves the ruins of the village of the Pecos Indians.

The relations with his father, Ralph Whittington's family was neglected after his parents' divorce in 1954. He has recently come across several of them in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, and Los Lunas: Aunt Josie (Whittington) Romero (widow of Archie Romero) and her daughters, and Cousin Emelecio Romero. Ralph Whittington passed away in 1981-83.

Jim and his brother Frank were raised by their mother, Pauline and step-dad, Sigifredo Quintana. His mother's marriage to Sigie brought the enrichment of family life with many Aunts and Uncles Quintana. Aunts Mary and Blanche Quintana continue to reside in the Pojoaque Valley. Aunt Flora (Quintana) Ortiz celebrated her 91st birthday in DEC1999 but with her granddaughter Debbie James recently lost her only daughter, Connie James Ortiz to cancer. Uncle Eddie Quintana still runs Del Camino Driving School in Santa Fe where he and Aunt Nancy reside. Aunt Nancy is a yard sale fanatic and can be counted on to find the BEST of the yard sales!
